Sheila was raised in South Shore on Chicago’s south side. This photo of the author was taken in the lobby of the Hamilton Movie Theatre on 71st Street and became the humorous Christmas gift she gave her parents that year.

Sheila was onboard escort to James A. Michener and his wife Mari during a cruise through Alaska. Here they are in Skagway. On a trip to the Caribbean, she had dinner at the home of author Madeline L’Engle.

Besides writing and reading, Sheila enjoys playing piano, composing songs, drawing and painting.

Her two favorite spots are the Farmers Market in Los Angeles and the beach.
